As Historic Route 66 approaches its 100th anniversary, this special community event celebrates not only the legacy of America’s most iconic highway, but also the future of transportation traveling the very same roadway. For generations, Route 66 symbolized freedom, exploration, innovation, and the rise of the American automobile. Now, one hundred years later, electric vehicles are ushering in the next great chapter of mobility.

Set along the Route 66 corridor in the heart of Downtown Flagstaff, attendees will have the rare opportunity to drive electric vehicles on a designated segment of the Mother Road itself, transforming Route 66 from a historic backdrop into an active, hands-on learning experience. Test drive an EV on a guided route designed to showcase modern electric transportation in real-world mountain and high-altitude driving conditions unique to Northern Arizona.

The event will also feature a wide variety of static EV displays representing different vehicle types, lifestyles, and price points, along with owner-to-owner conversations facilitated by experienced EV drivers and trained volunteers.

Family-friendly entertainment, a food truck, and easy pedestrian access to downtown Flagstaff businesses, museums, and Route 66 landmarks will create a welcoming festival atmosphere for visitors of all ages.

Much like Route 66 once introduced travelers to a new era of mobility and adventure, today’s electric vehicle revolution represents another transformational moment in transportation history. This event offers a unique opportunity to celebrate the past, experience the present, and help shape the road ahead.
