Step back in time and celebrate a century of adventure on America’s most famous highway at the Inaugural Williams Car Drop- a New Year’s Eve Centennial Celebration! Held in historic downtown Williams, the Gateway to the Grand Canyon and the last town bypassed by I-40, this free community event captures the spirit of Route 66 like never before.
The celebration begins at 8:00 PM (Mountain Standard Time) with live music featuring Brent Sutton, rotating with emcee DJ Joseph Howe, and a festive Beer and Wine Garden. Together, they’ll create an unforgettable night of entertainment and community spirit leading up to the midnight countdown.
At midnight, a restored 1927 Chevrolet Capitol, the same year Route 66 was established, takes center stage for the dazzling Car Drop Countdown, ushering in 2026 and the official start of the Route 66 Centennial year. A brilliant fireworks display follows, lighting the winter sky above Railroad Avenue.
A free, family-friendly celebration of history, community, and classic Route 66 spirit!
